Review by hotel critic
As a tea plantation owner from Galle, my culinary journeys often lead me to unique dining spots. During a recent stay at Forster Motor Inn, I was pleasantly surprised by the hotel's restaurant, which presents a charming atmosphere for those keen on exploring local flavors. The dining experience began with a delightful breakfast for just $10 for two. The fresh ingredients spoke volumes, reminiscent of the simplicity found in a Sri Lankan tea estate breakfast. I couldn't resist trying the Sydney rock oysters, renowned and rightfully so; they were served chilled, a refreshing treat that echoed coastal dining memories from home. While the location is convenient to various eateries-like All Things Yum and Little Street Kitchen-having the option to dine in proved convenient. The ambiance is laid-back, perfect for both family gatherings and quiet meals. Service was attentive without being intrusive, and it felt like a home away from home. If you're flitting between culinary experiences, Forster Motor Inn should certainly be on your list. It's not just a place to rest but also to savor local delights, bridging the gap between two beloved cultures of tea and fresh seafood.
